World-class facilities for the next generation of learners.
A new state-of-the-art, sustainable learning centre
At the end of 2024, the current H Block at Illawarra Grammar will be demolished, making way for the new Hoskins Building.
It will be built to the PassivHaus standard:
Energy Efficiency: The building will consume approximately 90% less energy for heating and cooling compared to the current campus buildings.
Sustainable Construction: The building will be built from mass timber. The structure and timber façade store around 1,200 tons of CO2, contributing to the building’s sustainability from the beginning.
Green Roof: This feature increases biodiversity and enhances the campus landscape.
Lecture Theatre
Featuring up to 150 seats.
Junior Library
A dedicated state-of-the-art library for Junior School students.
Six Senior Classrooms
General learning areas and a flexible central space.
Four Junior Learning Spaces
Including withdrawal spaces and STEM Lab, and extensive outdoor learning areas.

TIGS Foundation is raising funds for this capital project by providing the opportunity to “Take a Seat” in the new lecture theatre.
Donors contributing $5000 may choose an inscription for a theatre seat plaque.
The name plaques will offer up to 45 characters over two lines.

About the Hoskins Family
The Hoskins Building has been named after Athur Sidney Hoskins and Helen Madoline Hoskins who donated land for the establishment of the Wollongong Botanic Gardens. Their former family home, Glennifer Brae, was the site of SCEGGS, the girls school which combined with The Illawarra Grammar School in 1976.
