Governance

Illawarra Grammar is governed by an independent School Council.

The School Council is constituted in accordance with an ordinance of the Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia, Sydney Diocese.
The Council is not involved in the day-to-day management of the School.
In consultation with the Principal, The Illawarra Grammar School Council provides leadership and guidance in areas associated with the School’s Strategic Vision, Building Program, Financial Management, Risk Management and more.
The Council elects sub-committees, including the Finance Committee, the Enrolments and Marketing Committee, and the Property Committee.
The Council meets at least ten times per year, as well as holding an annual retreat. The sub-committees assemble for additional meetings.
Council members generously volunteer their time, knowledge and expertise, and are professionals within their chosen fields.
