We have a strong tradition of excellence in music, with a wide range of opportunities for students to learn and perform.
Tutoring & Ensembles
We employ specialist music tutors to provide weekly lessons on a range of instruments to our students. The lessons are held during the school day, with some tutors offering before and after school options. There is also a range of ensembles for students.
Students from age 4 to Year 12 who learn an instrument, either externally or at School, are welcome to participate in our biannual Instrumental Concerts.
The concerts allow students to hone their performance skills and share their talents with the school community.
School Production
One of the highlights of our calendar is the annual School Production, an event that attracts many visitors from the local community.
It is an opportunity for our talented musicians to showcase their skills as part of the orchestra, gaining valuable performance experience.
Each year, Kindergarten to Year 2 put on a show for families, showcasing their acting, singing, music and dancing skills.
A Christmas Celebration
Illawarra Grammar holds a Christmas community carols event, with performances from students across both our schools.
ArtsFest
An annual House-based competition that provides our Senior School students with a creative platform to express themselves, while raising money for Nganambala.
