With an outstanding record of sporting achievement, our students choose from a wide range of sport offerings.

An Extensive Cocurricular Sport Program

At Illawarra Grammar, we offer a diverse range of sports for our students to participate in, before, during and after school.
Every student has the opportunity to play sport for fun or competitively. We foster the growth of talented athletes, providing abundant opportunities and expert coaching to develop their skills and represent the School at local, state and national levels.

Pathways to Sporting Success

Our students have the opportunity to follow a representative sporting pathway from local through to national and international championships.
We support our students to achieve their goals with the best local coaches running programs for our School.

We participate in the CASA Interschool Competition, providing pathways on to AICES, CIS, NSW All Schools and School Sport Australia competitions.

What is CASA?

Elite Athlete Program

Students who have their eyes set on elite level sport can apply for the Illawarra Grammar Podium Program. The program provides tailored training that supports athletes to achieve their goals.

A Dedicated Fitness Studio

Our gym features equipment for many styles of training including, TRX, CrossFit, Rowing, Gymnastics, Functional training and more.

Expert Coaches

We work with specialist coaches who are among the best in the industry, many having played at professional level themselves.

Convenient access to
local sporting facilities

Our central location and fleet of 8 buses allows our students easy access to local sporting facilities.

House System

At Illawarra Grammar, we have four houses:

  • Aranda
  • Coligan
  • Kogara
  • Wolgal

Every student is placed in one of these houses for their entire time at School. They will represent this House through all competitions, including Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals, and ArtsFest.
