On Thursday 17 August a group of eight students from Year 6 went to Macarthur Anglican School to compete in the Gateway 8 Competition.
This competition is targeted at high potential learners. Tasks are designed to stimulate the eight multiple intelligences outlined by Howard Gardner (Linguistic intelligence, Logical-mathematical intelligence, Spatial intelligence, Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence, Musical intelligence, Interpersonal intelligence, Intrapersonal intelligence and Naturalist intelligence).
The theme this year was ‘Wood’. From the Teddy Bear’s Picnic, to famous ‘wood’ that has featured throughout history, our students articulated informed and creative responses.
At the end of the day, TIGS Year 6 came second in the competition, which is an amazing achievement.
Congratulations to: Oliver Ducat, Arthur Feitosa Nunes, Elias Ainbinder Satne, Shreya Mehan, Emily Clark, Maddie McKay, Elise Cordaro, Summer Jones.
