National Simultaneous Storytime

TIGS Library – Mr David Green
May 29 2020

Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, preschools, childcare centres, family homes, and bookshops around Australia. This year, TIGS Library presented National Simultaneous Storytime over YouTube, straight into our Kindergarten to Year 2 classrooms and TIGS Prep. Our programme included two book readings, the chicken dance performed by some brave Year 11 students and Sarah from Year 11 singing a beautiful rendition of ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’. Our video also featured cameos from Mrs Nealy, Ms Clayton and Mrs Bowmaker! TIGS was proud to acknowledge the importance of libraries during Library and Information Week, by joining in this national celebration which promotes the value of reading and literacy.  To borrow this year’s book, or get advice on other fantastic read-aloud Australian books (or any books) make sure you visit our Library.
