For students in Years 11 and 12, Illawarra Grammar runs the Entertainment Industry VET course internally. Students interested in staging, production and technical aspects of live events and performances benefit greatly from this course and the practical opportunities provided by School Production.
Upon successful completion of the course students will be awarded a Certificate III in Live Production and Services.
From 2026, VET Hospitality will also be on offer. As students will complete HSC examination in these subjects, one or both VET courses can contribute to a student’s ATAR.
Languages
Starting in 2025, Year 7 students will have the opportunity to enrol in either advanced or beginner streamed classes for all three languages offered, subject to demand.
For students in Years 8 to 10, proficiency testing will be available to ensure they are placed at the appropriate level for the DELF (French), HSK (Chinese), and JLPT (Japanese) exams. These certifications will not only enhance students’ language learning but also provide valuable credentials that can benefit their future studies in Australia and in countries where these languages are spoken.
