Junior School Community Spirit
It has been a busy few weeks in Junior School. We’ve settled into the School term and are well and truly enjoying the many community events that have taken place.
The Year 6 Captains Induction Assembly is always a special event. Our students made their pledges and our Junior School responded, supporting all Year 6 students as they stepped into their roles as leaders of our Junior School officially. Year 6 Captains spent a day involved in leadership training and Mrs Wallace, Mrs Nealy and myself were clearly blown away by the ideas and passion they all enthusiastically displayed. Year 6 students were fortunate to head to our Nation’s capital this week, for the provocation to their Unit of Inquiry, How we Organise ourselves with a focus on developing an understanding of how ‘Governmental systems influence the lives of citizens’. Students and staff had a brilliant trip and we thank Mrs Carswell for her excellent planning and organisation.
The Junior School Swimming Carnival was a huge success, despite the rain. It will be one to be remembered. Thank you to all of the parents who were able to attend. We were thrilled to have you there. Our children gave their best whether it was overcoming their fears of the pool, encouraging their peers or racing with confidence. House spirit was certainly present and our newly appointed House Captains gave their best efforts to lead their teams. Thank you to Mr Tregonning and Mrs Dribbus for ensuring the event was smooth and rainproof. The results are in:
1st Place – Wolgal
2nd Place – Aranda
3rd Place – Kogara
4th Place – Coligan
Well done everyone!
