Ms Priya Pather – Year 6 Teacher
Tell us a little about your job?
I have the pleasure of teaching 6P in the Junior School. We have a very dynamic class and I love hearing the different perspectives students have on issues and ideas about the world. I also coach the Year 6 Debating Team, where we explore some of these issues further.
How long have you worked at TIGS?
This is my third year teaching at TIGS, however, if you count the years I was a student here then it will be my ninth year!
What is the best part of your role?
The best part of my role is creating an environment where students are able to inquire and strengthen their understanding of the world.
What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is, “If you never try, you’ll never know.” If you never try new things, you’ll never know what you’re capable of!
What are you reading now?
Currently I’m re-reading Jane Eyre. I’m on a mission to re-read all of my High School texts, and so far, my interpretation of them has been vastly different to when I was a teenager.
