As we move to the final stages of The Primary Reading Project, led by the Association Independent Schools, we confidently embed explicit, evidenced based strategies and instructional practices that are enhancing our students’ reading skills and ability.

Renae Watkins (AIS) and Natasha Hutchins (Acting Junior School Deputy Head) have capably led our Junior School staff through a series of modules and Professional Development, over the past 12 months, that promote best reading practice and reflect the important updates as required by the new English syllabus.

Student engagement and outcomes are excellent as a result. We continue to refine our Reading programme as we plan for 2024 and we look forward to providing more updates about the project in person shortly.
